Graphic design, websites, strategy and photography proudly grown in South Auckland
Hello! One AM creative is the brainchild of me, Alex Carter. I design beautiful brands, solid strategy, authentic photography and wicked websites. I’m your one-stop shop for your new business, rebrand, or next campaign and collateral, saving your most precious asset: time.
I focus on your audience and create beautiful and engaging work that helps you achieve your goals. I craft outcomes that solve your business pain, increase your capacity, or finally tackle those outstanding projects (there are always outstanding projects). I will support you at every step, from concept to completion.
If you’ve come here, time is probably what you need most. So many projects that needed to start yesterday! Right? I get it. I’ve worked in the charitable sector for over 10 years, and know the tension between innovation, business as usual, campaign targets, and marketing calendars.
Push pause and breathe, I’m here to help.

Everyone has a story to tell, be it brand, belief, or biography.
I help you tell your story.
Who is Alex Carter?
I’m Alex, I’m the guy who loves making the world a better place, by supporting charities, NGOs and purpose-led businesses doing their thing. (NOT selling washing machines*). I am the founder of One AM Creative and unite over 15 years of professional design experience with a sincere love for community transformation. I’m your new one-stop-shop for all things creative.
I have experience in graphic design, strategy, branding, web design, and photography. I've also been involved with content writing, email campaigns, direct marketing, videography, animation, illustration... the list is long and the hats are many. Charity work, and running my own business means staying flexible. It’s given me the opportunity to learn and make effective work in all these spaces.
My passion for community extends to volunteering for Humans of South Auckland as a photographer and storyteller. I also work part-time from my South Auckland studio to stay local and better engage with the people in my community. I’ve worked with organisations like Tearfund, St. John, Diabetes NZ and the Ministry for the Environment, and I'm looking forward to working with you, too!
I’m proud to offer an end-to-end creative service to all my clients. My range of disciplines means I am able to take almost any project from concept through to completion. This keeps the workflow simple and clean, ensures total creative consistency throughout, and most importantly, it means you don’t need to explain what you need over and over to different suppliers.
*I did actually do this for a while. I also love clean clothes. So no hate there, it’s just not what gets me out of bed!
